Street Democracy writes:

I can’t seem to find much more to this story so I shall do some digging. If this is the case, I will try my  best to expose the heartless administration at the Jobcentre Crawley who sent him to his early grave. This is Crawley Borough Council’s democracy is it?

An inquest last week heard Lee Robinson of West Green (Crawley) committed suicide after after losing his benefits while being long-term
unemployed….Until the end of last year the 39-year-old was receiving Employment Support Allowance while he was looking for work. However, he was told he was no longer eligible for it, and his council tax benefit was also being assessed.

He challenged the decisions, but at the end of last year was referred to Crawley mental health services suffering with suicidal thoughts.

On February 4 he was found by a friend hanged. He left a suicide note.

    • There has been a suicide by a Mr Robinson, Lee from West Green. We are protesting outside the Town Hall Crawley this Monday, 12 noon to get this story out. The local news are not mentioning it. We will not let this man be ignored. It seems both Crawley Jobcentre and Crawley Council may have their first suicide because of the hard right brutal treatment of benefit cuts to the poorest. They stopped his money and he had nothing to live on. It is beyond shocking my friend. Thanks for commenting.
