Food bank charity ‘was threatened with closure by Iain Duncan Smith’s aide’

Food bank charity ‘was threatened with closure by Iain Duncan Smith’s aide’

‘A senior aide to Iain Duncan Smith was accused last night of threatening to “shut down” Britain’s main provider of food banks, in a bitter row over allegations of the “politicisation of poverty”.

Chris Mould, chair of the Trussell Trust, told The Independent that he had been warned during a private conversation that the “Government might try to shut you down” over its public campaigning on the plight of people unable to feed themselves or their families.

While Mr Mould would not reveal the identity of the person concerned, The Independent understands from sources that it was the Conservative MP Andrew Selous, parliamentary private secretary to Mr Duncan Smith, the Work and Pensions Secretary.’

Feckless parents may be stripped of their benefits … unless they take lessons in raising family

‘Benefits will be docked from feckless parents who refuse to take classes on how to improve their children’s discipline, diet and exercise under plans being discussed by senior Tories.

A secret party document photographed in Downing Street reveals MPs preparing the Conservative election manifesto are considering attaching new conditions to welfare.

Carried by MP Margot James, who sits on a policy advisory board which is drawing up proposals for Prime Minister David Cameron, it reads: ‘Apply conditions for parents on benefits (training or parenting classes)’.’

Councils and housing organisations to boycott workfare programme

Councils and housing organisations to boycott workfare programme

By Inside Housing-Pictures displayed by Street Democracy.

Street Democracy writes:

The misery in the voices of the unemployed as they stand or sit waiting for their privacy to be violated by some charged up, power hungry work programme consultant is painful to hear.

They are not socially elevating the unemployed into positions of respect and large salary positions to the deserving innately decent sensitive poor, but more like a carnival of mental torture instead.

It is a form of mind rape as the barrage of intimate questions come hollowing at you, by a commanding dialogue of speak of loose your vital money, is outrageous and is blackmail.

A corrupt parasitical mechanism to destroy the psyche of the poor, enslave them, blame them and crush them.

They are doing nothing but transmitting disease gutter policies that amplify misery, magnify a corrupt government to crush the poor but mostly to control the poor.

These work programmes have been designed by ‘think tanks’ disconnected socially and have infiltrated aggressive austerity programmes that look good on paper.

Organisations are standardising blackmail, localising bullying and controlling the poor and not even in the right direction either.

In reality these are detention centre’s intricately imposing, and are needlessly sterile instruments of control.

In reality these consultants are localising bullying, standardising blackmail and controlling the vulnerable poor as if they are commodities to be controlled.

What they are not doing is socially elevating the poor, aiding the desperately ill in positions of employment far removed from slave labouring and minimum wage to give them career fulfilment to suit their individual needs.

Fact, the unemployed are not slaves, we’re not to be disrespected either. We’re treated like vermin, and socially demonised as parasitical. Yet, we are innately decent people trying our best in a cut throat world too, with ill health and no money, its almost impossible.

They are not elevating the working poor out of the cycle of deprivation.

The poor are not receiving large quantities of respect and are not treated as innately decent people.

The poor, the unemployed are instead, regularly hounded, are harassed and pushed forward towards sordid work positions available.

People need time to heal. People need time to be new mothers and fathers, they need time to adjust to disabilities before being pushed out into the job market with added cold scorn like it is today.

This class warfare guarantee’s hard gruel labour, or dead end work placements, guaranteed to make your feet and hands sore while being paid pea nuts.

Your pushed forward to work in a type of hell, a work position that is in a social black hole of no empathy, no decent pay, no respect and no prospects.

This parasite is psychopathic following a psychopathic Tory main frame- but worse is localised organisations adopting this ideology and giving it the power necessary to hound the poor with.

Work placements guaranteed to destroy what little health you had left and you have no choice but to go along or face hunger and serious money deprivation with benefit sanctions.

This sounds like a ‘Gulag Society’  to me.

A Punishing State treating the unemployed as one social annoyance a plague or parasite and is beyond wrong in every way.

Councils and housing organisations to boycott workfare programme

By Inside Housing-Pictures displayed by Street Democracy.

Around 350 charity organisations have signed up to boycott the community work placement part of the government’s workfare programme, including 13 councils, two housing organisations and a selection of homelessness charities.

The Keep Volunteering Voluntary campaign has said that 345 organisations have agreed to boycott the programme, including Habinteg Housing Association, Your Homes Newcastle Youth Voice, Shelter, Shelter Cymru and Swansea Young Single Homeless Project.

Union Unite has also signed up and, through its Unite Against Workfare campaign, has already secured agreements from several councils that they will not take workfare placements. These councils have said they will also encourage contractors to do the same.

The 13 councils that have signed up at present are: Barking and Dagenham, Brent, Burnley, Edinburgh, Ipswich, Islington, Lambeth, Norwich, South Tyneside, St Helens, Sunderland, Thurrock and Wakefield.

The scheme is part of the government’s help to work programme under which participants must either sign on at a Jobcentre every day, take up a training course or carry out a six-month, 30-hour-a-week placement.

The KVV said opposition to the scheme appears to be related to the community work placement element being delayed. the help to work scheme was launched on 28 April, and these placements should have already begun, according to the campaign.

A spokesperson for the Department for Work and Pensions said: ‘Referrals to the placements have begun and the placements will begin shortly. There has been no delay. Charities are under no obligation to be in the scheme, but those who are recognise the benefits of it.’

UK hunger crisis laid bare in open letter to PM from professional couple forced to resort to food banks

People in Crawley, West Sussex are going hungry, missing meals regularly to pay the bedroom tax and other death dealing benefit cuts by the Tories.

Street Democracy writes:

Here in Crawley, W.Sussex I hear and meet local residents who regularly miss meals because of being forced to pay the bedroom tax or have been hit hard by the benefit cuts.

I meet people who tell me democracy for them doesn’t exist for they feel silenced and excluded.

Our local MP, Henry Smith (Tory), doesn’t listen to them or me for that matter, and gives back automated pre-written emails or responses regurgitated from the Tory henchmen Conservative Leaders.

Henry Smith MP-Prayed at Northgate Church for the poor but ignores their pleas, supports bedroom tax, benefit cuts and ATOS all death dealing Tory policies-hypocrite!

There is no empathy in this sterile economic torture towards the poor.

The Tory punishing state is expanding as our stomachs rumble for food.

We have some Tory Councillor’s who feel we the poor live lavishly on food take away’s, daily and we don’t need a food bank.

This Tory Councillor is also rude to members of the public who don’t support Tory policy. Mockery is allowed at Town Hall meetings towards the public gallery when the public are not permitted to speak to defend themselves. Outcome-innately decent people walk out.

This particular Tory Councillor is wrong.

He is using in accurate and by out of touch information to make such a crazy statement.

This Tory Councillor cannot hear, or relate to the numbers of Crawley residents who bear the weight of this Tory ‘war against the poor’ and even Iain Duncan Smith stated it was a war.

So it is a war then! A war against the lower classes and financially weaponising benefits and to demonise claimants has been a Tory success.

Crawley, Tory Councillor refuse’s to open their eyes to their political party’s destruction policy aimed at benefit claimants.

It has been a spiteful punishing agenda, especially using the blame game for economic failures being aimed at benefit claimants and calling it a ‘benefit culture’ like it was always easy to survive on.

There are hungry people in Crawley, I know this for a fact. Desperately trying to find work that pays their rent, mortgage and the corporate cost of living is now very difficult without welfare top ups.

Crawley Borough Council and the local Crawley Job Centre amplify this misery, by following the Tory psychopathic main frame with ruthless efficiency.

Bedroom tax victims were regularly mocked by Tory Councillor’s and many walked out feeling worse than what they did walking in. This is Crawley Borough Council where workers are paid not to be political-paid no to think more like.

UK hunger crisis laid bare in open letter to PM from professional couple forced to resort to food banks

As a report reveals one million food parcels have been handed out including 330,000 to hungry children, a professional working couple tell how they had to rely on food banks to feed their baby.

Hard working: Hannah, baby Hunter and Dean Chadwick

NHS PA Hannah Chadwick, 31, and her engineer husband Dean, 27, ran out of money to feed themselves and their 16-month-old son Hunter after their car needed £700 of repairs.

In an open letter to David Cameron, the couple, from Wrexham in North Wales, reveal how they had to use a food bank to survive:

Dear Mr Cameron

We are a hard-working family and never buy anything on credit. We are proud of being able to provide for ourselves and didn’t want to beg off someone else. So going to the food bank was our only option. We were a bit embarrassed but in August we turned up at our local centre.

There was a real mix of people there. We expected to see homeless people or those fighting addiction. But there were also professional workers, older people and families.

They gave us three days of food but it lasted a week. It tided us over to payday. Without it we’d have gone hungry. We don’t think the answer is more food banks. Cheaper childcare would have helped us. We are a wealthy country and it is shocking that so many don’t have enough.

We want the Government to come up with ways that people can help themselves. And if you are struggling our message to you is, ‘Don’t be too proud to ask for help’. We wanted to give back so we donate food ourselves.

‘Public health emergency’ declared as one in six GPs was asked to refer a patient to food banks in the last year

‘Public health emergency’ declared as one in six GPs was asked to refer a patient to food banks in the last year

‘One in six family doctors has been asked to refer a patient to a food bank in the past year, a new survey has found, with GPs reporting that benefits delays are leaving people without money for food for weeks on end.

There are even rare reported cases of people visiting their GP with “sicknesses caused by not eating”, the leading food bank charity said.

Rising food poverty in the UK – driven by a combination of rising prices, stagnant wages, and reforms to welfare – has been described as an emerging “public health emergency” by academics and evidence from GP surgeries is matched by hospital diagnoses of malnutrition, which have nearly doubled in the past five years.’

Atos itself not fit for work? Disability benefit test provider may finally have contract terminated

‘The Government may soon terminate its contract with controversial firm Atos which currently carries out the “fitness for work” tests on disabled benefit claimants.

Atos has come under heavy fire for its handling of work capability assessments, which are used to gauge eligibility for Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and Incapacity Benefit.

Labour MP Dennis Skinner called for the Prime Minister David Cameron to “get rid” of Atos in October, describing the company as a “cruel heartless monster.” There have also been questions over the application of their tests, with claims that people are being wrongly recommended for work, or put through stressful medical interviews.’

Former children’s homes boss accused of 49 sex offences after 14 new allegations

Street Democracy writes:

This is the danger of unchecked power in control surrounded by more unchecked power in control and put them close to children and those with paedophilic intentions are free to abuse at their leisure as many children as they please.

The Paedophile Information Exchange is precisely what this is about. Predatory paedophiles hanging around children, places where children are, including and especially, working for institutions that take care of children.

Torture is the infliction of unbearable pain on what ever level, and these children are thrown into a den of wolves with no one to trust, no one to run too and no one to protect them.

They are groomed with sophistication that would fool even the most soul hardy of children and then preyed upon unto these children are destroyed, some are even killed and never missed, never reported missing and just treated as trash.

However, this story is again the normalising of children and sex. It is the familiarity of men and children, men of power who are supposedly the top end of civilisation.

It is the grooming of the nation to accept paedophilia and there are I am sure many more stories to come to customise the people to no longer be interested.

Then they have won. No one wants to hear anymore, so the children by popular demand this time, have no voice and will be preyed upon further until it is legalised.

Remember the PIE wants children fresh out of babyhood at the tender age of four years old to be the legal age of consent and sexual. It is up to us the public to be aware of the game that surrounds such stories and to remind ourselves each one is as tragic.

We cannot let these monsters tame us to their way of thinking.

Children ‘at risk of abuse’ as social services routinely refuse to co-operate with the police

‘Children are at risk of abuse because councils refuse to co-operate with police and prosecutors, Labour has claimed.

The findings come in the wake of a report that disclosed the shocking failure of the authorities in Rochdale to protect vulnerable young girls from being groomed and raped by a gang of older men.

New figures released today show two-thirds of council-run children’s service departments have refused to share information about potential child abuse with police or prosecutors.’ Read more …

Cover-up that let the head of Nick Clegg’s prep school get away with abusing boys for decades

‘Roland Peter Wright still lives in a cottage overlooking the playing fields at Caldicott School. The person who answers the front door is a bespectacled old man with a walking stick and hearing aid.

‘Go away,’ he snaps. This is the same man who, in his heyday, was the charismatic and distinguished headmaster of the blue-chip Buckinghamshire prep school.

One of the (now) famous former pupils under his charge was Nick Clegg, the Deputy Prime Minister. He was head boy. Andrew Strauss, the former England cricket captain, was a pupil in the late Eighties.’

Government under fire for rejecting European Union food bank funding

‘The government has been accused of putting “anti-European ideology” before the needs of the most deprived people in society after Britain rejected help from a European Union fund to help subsidise the costs of food banks.

David Cameron, who was heavily criticised recently after Michael Gove blamed the rise in food banks on financial mismanagement by families, faced pressure to embark on a U-turn to allow EU funds to be spent on feeding the poor.

The government came under fire after British officials in Brussels said that the UK did not want to use money from a new £2.5bn fund – European Aid to the Most Deprived – to be used to help with the costs of running food banks. The use of food banks has increased dramatically in recent months, prompting Sir John Major to warn that the poor face a stark choice between paying for heating or food.

But British officials rejected EU funding for food banks, which could have reached £22m for Britain, on the grounds that individual member states are best placed to take charge of such funding.’

Is government aid a giant money-laundering scheme?

Street Democracy writes:

Its the ordinary man and woman from rich countries told to pay for poor countries that end up into the ruling elites’ hands. The rich are then meant to disperse this money to their deprived country’s social infrastructure.

However, if you add up all the billions of pounds from the UK alone, it makes you question, why we don’t have documentaries showing you how and where the money is going.

To satisfy the curiosity of the payer that their money is funding the poor children, building schools and look here are the invoices to show where the money has gone!

We get silence instead and we just have assume the rich can be trusted with unregulated, unchecked obscene amounts of money at their disposal.

Live Aid is one I would question, as well as the Haiti fund and in fact I’d go through them all for the past 20 years at least.

‘Remember something called the War on Poverty? The Great Society?

President Lyndon Johnson declared it and announced it in 1965. Since then, the federal government and state governments have poured staggering amounts of dollars into the program.

How many dollars? Does anyone know?

In his 1992 book, Paved With Good Intentions, Jared Taylor puts the figure (1965-1992) at $2.5 trillion. So, for the sake of argument, let’s accept that.

Yet, by 1992 (and to an even greater degree since then), poverty had accelerated in America. Had gotten much, much worse.’

You Got To Watch Everything..Including Some Mainstream Charities!

Comic Relief money invested in arms and tobacco shares

Red noses
Comic Relief has raised nearly £1bn for worthwhile causes

Street Democracy writes:

Question everything…for example, where did the billions of pounds from the UK’s pocket’s end up when good people sent money to Haiti?

Live Aid, remember that marathon of an appeal to feed those starving children, where did the millions raised back in the 80’s actually go too?

It is a bit like foreign aid. Poor people from rich countries, send money to poor countries  to rich people. Tax free millions of pounds gets sent directly into the ruling elites deep pockets.

A few pennies pay for something’s especially the governmental infrastructure. Politicians, bodyguards, fancy buildings, furnishing of extravagance and good salaries. Anywhere and everywhere, where it isn’t supposed to go.

It is unfortunate that so many charities do really good work and work hard for no rewards but to help, yet some major charities are controlled by the ruling elite whose only focus is the money.

This is but one dodgy account of exploiting the goodness of people’s hearts in the guise of a well meaning charity.

Millions of pounds donated to Comic Relief have been invested in shares in tobacco, alcohol and arms firms, BBC Panorama has learned.

It includes £630,000 in shares in arms firm BAE Systems and more than £300,000 in alcohol manufacturer Diageo.

The price of charity: Save the Children exposed after seeking approval of energy firms

‘One of Britain’s biggest charities is today accused by a whistleblower of self-censoring criticism of Big Six energy suppliers for fear of upsetting existing – or potential – corporate donors.

Save the Children, one of the UK’s oldest NGOs, which raised almost £300m last year, is alleged to have repeatedly quashed press releases criticising British Gas price rises to avoid damaging its corporate partnership with the company, which was worth £1.5m over 10 years. The charity is also accused of dropping a potential campaign on the effects of fuel poverty on children while it was under consideration for funding from EDF.’

The Sleaze Of Supressing Hard Evidence! Tories Cut Backs Causing Social Misery, Homelessness and Rise in Food Bank Use!

Street Democracy writes:

They lie with style, they lie with power and just lie by suppressing documents is the sleaze of the Tory ‘spirit of the age’ policies.

The Tories society is bathed with privilege, economic disparities forever growing, and their harsh brutal benefit cut backs are financially ruining innocent families struggling to survive.

With immense velocity the poor have been thrown to the wolves while these Tory aristocratic millionaires give themselves a pay rise. Talk about laugh in the face of a dying democracy and in the faces of the needy.

Draconian rules crack like a whip in the air in each community as the Tories warrantless invasion of financial destitution enters peace loving homes to destroy.

Suppression is the Tories way of handling current affairs. Mock the poor, mock policy that aids the poor, suppress the facts that prove their incompetence, lie about it, hide it, as they hide behind their bodyguards and their gated upper class communities.

Our Tory Government is using money, the benefit system as a formidable weapon and now legions of poor meet in doorways, meet in food banks and the Jobcentre to further the hell of their misery.

Point being our Government lies and is in breach of trust for doing so. Problem is they have been lying the moment they sleazed their way into power. They are not voted in, the citizen didn’t ask for a Tory government and they have abused this position of power relentlessly.

Autumn Statement 2013: millions to work longer for a pension as life expectancy rises

‘Millions of young workers will be unable to retire until they reach 70 under new government rules.

An overhaul of the state retirement system announced on Thursday will mean that people now under 50 will have to work even longer than they had previously thought.

George Osborne, the Chancellor, will announce the new rules and argue that they are one of the “difficult decisions” required to put the public finances on a secure footing in the long term. In his Autumn Statement, Mr Osborne will also tell MPs that despite the recent economic recovery, the job of balancing the Government’s budget is far from over, meaning several more years of spending cuts and tax rises.

While austerity measures to clear the deficit will extend towards 2018, the pension reforms will have much longer-lasting consequences.’ Read more …

Top cop: ‘People use soup kitchens so they can afford alcohol

Street Democracy writes:

With the harshest of policies aimed straight at the poor, with ungraspable destruction of social mobility and opportunities, a continuous numbing assault, it isn’t surprising alcohol levels are up.

Escapism is always high amongst the disadvantaged. Nations fractured and broken because the heavy weight corporate giants steal native lands, cause suddenly a loss in indigenous tribal life styles and puts them into high unemployment.

These innocent people who loose their lands often turn to alcohol. Nothing to live for, nothing to aim for anymore.

Born into a world of fierce aggressive competition between individuals, to stamp upon others to gain a higher place, to ruthlessly discount anyone else but the self is a hard line view on life.

Competition destroys life and living, co-operation enhances it.

It is a cut throat cultural heavy weight indoctrination enforced upon society that never sits well. It isn’t a good place to be.

To rape the world and dig up precious metals, resources and minerals to hold in the hand of a winner, isn’t the way forward to enhancement, but the extinction button of destruction.

A life viewed from many is a painful one, and you can’t blame even the hardest of souls for trying to revert their attention elsewhere.

Drugs do this for many. Escapism softens the blow of harsh reality and this top police officer should know about ‘the addiction’. Addiction isn’t easy and can be the hardest for many to give up. Food addiction, smoking addiction, alcoholism.

Croydon’s most senior police officer has said people use soup kitchens so they can spend money on alcohol instead.

‘Borough Commander David Musker claims the soup kitchen in Queen’s Gardens, aimed at the poor and homeless, is instead being used by drunks out to cause trouble.

“The reality is that a number of people use the soup kitchen in Croydon in order to spend their money on alcohol rather than food,” he said.

“This, in turn, leads to these individuals committing crime or antisocial behaviour.

“In the long term, soup kitchens are not helping to get people off the streets and turn their lives around.’ Read more …
