It’s the Great British sell off: Osborne reveals plan to sell off more government assets than ever before in bid to raise more than £23BILLION this year

Thursday 21st May 2015 at 09:23 By David Icke

‘George Osborne signalled the start of the biggest ever sell-off of public assets in a speech to the CBI business conference last night.

The Chancellor said the government would raise more than £23billion this year – a new record – by privatising stakes in Eurostar, Lloyds and the student loan book.

He also revealed that Government departments have already been ordered to start finding extra savings ahead of the emergency budget in July, as he bids to wipe out the government deficit within just two years.’

The FDA union claims HMRC will lose up to 15,000 of its 64,000 staff – despite having to find an extra £5bn by cracking down on tax avoidance

Axe: HMRC could face huge job cuts – but George Osborne wants staff to tackle tax avoidance

Tory cuts could axe more than a fifth of staff at the department in charge of chasing tax dodgers, a union has warned.

It’s claimed HM Revenue and Customs will lose out as new waves of cuts spread across Whitehall, ditching up to 100,000 jobs.

That’s despite HMRC being in charge of a new tax avoidance crackdown that George Osborne claims will net Britain £5bn.

Dave Penman, general secretary of the FDA civil service union, says HMRC will suffer because other departments like education, health and foreign aid are better-protected.

And it won’t be able to track down tax dodgers without investing in expensive experts, he warned.

He told Mirror Online: “Tax avoidance is just one part of HMRC but it’s a critical one.

Second Budget: George Osborne will make spending cuts harsher than we all thought

George Osborne will announce huge cuts to public services and welfare in his first all-Tory Budget.

The Chancellor has revealed he is planning to declare a second Budget of the year on July 8.

The Tory axeman already formed a budget in March, but will now slash spending and support for struggling families even more because his actions are not limited by Lib Dem coalition partners.

Mr Osborne said: “On the 8th of July I am going to take the unusual step of having a second Budget of the year.

“I don’t want to wait to turn the promises we made in the election into a reality.”

Dismembering society further a Tory darkness addiction to hurt the poor, war upon the poor and socially disgrace them further by taking money from them is to endure another 5 years of lethal welfare cuts.

They have mastered a sinister art of manufacturing dehumanisation techniques disguised as saintly projects that echo draconian strategies of a brutal oppressive Tory machine of brilliant blue.

The punishing state as already begun, but worse is to come.

Like a ‘Red Briefcase of Doom’ carrying hideous horrors, the budget George Osbourne, a love abandoned soulless suit of blue, will direct a atmosphere to assassinate the welfare state.

We can only wait as the malevolent murmurs whisper suggestive financial slaughter, and prey for our communities and families sake that the destruction is not devastating.

RIP David Clapson, the latest tragic victim of callous welfare reforms.RIP David Clapson, the latest tragic victim of callous welfare reforms.

When Funghi, the unemployed alcoholic  featured in the recent Benefits Street television series, disclosed that he had been abused as a child, most of those condemning him on twitter did not even blink.  Such is the state-whipped up contempt amongst some towards people on benefits, that not even the revelation of a tragic childhood was enough to stop the bullying mob.

Yet one of the reasons child abuse is such an abhorrent crime is that the scars often last a lifetime.  Everybody knows this.  Addiction, depression, low self-esteem, isolation, these are just some of the ways that a life can be blighted by mistreatment as a child.  Often people like this find it hard to just get a job, and often not through want of trying.  The sad truth is that employers are not rushing out to hire people addicted to drink or drugs, or those with a serious mental condition, or even people who might simply be judged to have a mild personality disorder.  In an economy based on high unemployment, and no real political will to change that, some people will be left behind.  There are over two million people currently looking for a job.

Captitalism chews people up and spits them out.  Everybody knows this as well.  Whether the stress of a shit job or no job, poverty, lack of adequate housing and fractured communities, the pressures faced by those at the bottom are immense.  Yet the poor are now expected to be super-heroes.  Lone parents are not only expected to juggle looking after young children with endless work-related activity imposed by Jobcentres, but also to feed them healthy food, home-cooked on the fucking Aga using only natural ingredients.  It doesn’t matter that the pittance those parents have to survive on barely pays for value chicken nuggets and oven chips.  They should make do and mend, live on ten pounds a week, darn socks by the fire and be grateful that their children are just malnourished, not starving.

Disabled people and those with health conditions are now having those conditions and disabilities magically disappeared by endless health assessments which are designed to stop their benefits.  Such is the triumph of neo-liberalism, the rhetoric goes, that there is a job for anyone now if they just try hard enough.  If you can tweet you can work as one Tory MP claimed.  The stark fact that employers are guilty of grotesque discrimination towards disabled workers is swept under the carpet at best, or at worst disabled people themselves are blamed for this prejudice.

Many tyrants claim to be helping the people whose live are demolished by their acts of barbarism.  Whether European invaders ‘civilising’ Africa by forcing the people into chains, or Tony Blair carpet-bombing Baghdad to save it, death and destruction have often been inflicted by messianic monsters who believe they are killing people for their own good.

The latest government workfare scheme is called Help To Work.  It is nothing of the sort of course, when this type of workfare was tried in a pilot scheme it had no impact on whether people found a job.  But that hasn’t stopped gushing press releases from the DWP lying about all the wonderful new support the scheme offers.  In truth this so-called support is either forced labour or starvation and this Government couldn’t particularly give a fuck which.

Under the guise of this ‘help’, Iain Duncan Smith has re-designed the already scant support of the social security system to be a torture machine.  Slip up, just for a second, and you will be dragged down, to poverty, homelessness and destitution.  It doesn’t even matter if it’s not your fault.  People newly diagnosed with cancer now spend as much time fighting the DWP so they can have enough money to eat, as they do fighting their illness.  Victims of domestic abuse face being socially cleansed from the area they may have grown up in, instead of being provided safe, and secure housing.  Kids who’ve been in care are sanctioned, cut off benefits completely, and left beg, rob, or sell their bodies to survive.

Today the Daily Mirror features that harrowing case of former soldier David Clapson on their front page.  This man, a 59 year old diabetic, was left penniless and without even electricity to keep his insulin chilled in the fridge.  A coroner found he had no food in his stomach.  His crime was to miss a meeting at the Jobcentre.  His punishment was death by benefit sanction.  Sanctions which ‘help’ people and according to one senior DWP official are even welcomed by those they are inflicted on.

How toxic is the bedroom tax?

This article is a weak argument to put to uncaring Tory, no empathy, greedy, serve to self, psychopathic politicians who enforced this gutter housing policy.

Enforced and enshrined into law without thought or consideration at the social, psychological and economic cost it has had, especially towards the poorest families in the UK.

We witness a catastrophic collapse in democracy.

BkyOH09CcAAEbMb

We witness a fantastic obliteration of moral standards within the epicentre of Westminster where corrupt capitalist’s strutting about in suits calling themselves MP’s have ignored the hundreds and thousands of voices opposing this putrid bedroom tax.

The social housing tenant is near broken as the Tories rewrite the laws of democracy to exclude the poor, to silence them and disengage them from political activity by ignoring them completely.

BlsxiR8IMAIG1be

It’s a sham of British justice and social democracy by any standards.

And apparently we’re meant to lead the way for other nations to follow of exactly how democracy works, it’s clearly easy, just exclude the poor.

Disfigured political avenues are now emerging cesspits with mocking towards anyone daring to speak out against the bedroom tax as being responsible for the housing crisis and the collapse of the economy.

Not the greedy politicians over claiming and over using, milking the expenses system and claiming for their second homes heating bills, or mortgage payments, or heating their stables.

Not the wealthy stealing the wealth of the nations, hoarding up endless hundreds of thousands of acres of land they don’t use, don’t need and don’t see causing massive land scarcity and out pricing locals.

Study finds ‘fundamental flaw’ with bedroom tax

Inside Housing.

More than half of English homes fall short of modern space standards calling into question the bedroom tax, a study from the University of Cambridge has found.

According to the study, which analysed 16,000 homes in comparison to the London Housing Design guide internal space standard, English homes are the smallest by floor area in Europe and the report’s authors argue that in most of the country you have to under-occupy to have an acceptable amount of living space.

BjwfDVmIgAACQO4

‘Spare bedrooms are a misconception in many homes, as the lack of space means that any extra bedrooms are needed for other uses,’ said Malcolm Morgan, a PhD student in the University’s Department of Engineering, who led the research.

Published today, the findings were that 55 per cent of dwellings fall short of the standards based on floor space alone, and 21 per cent fall short when the number of current occupants is taken into account. Flats and small terraced houses were most commonly below the standard. Dwellings were also frequently found to be under-occupied in comparison with the number of bedrooms, which was most likely due to lack of space.

1240652_656743937683675_789644844_n

It found that households receiving housing benefit were more likely to be undersized, calling into question the bedroom tax.

The UK has the smallest homes by floor area in Europe with the average newly-built home at just 76 square metres. The report argues that the reasons for this are related to the removal of minimum space standards through the 1980 Local Government, Planning and Land Act, the high value of land, and the low number of houses built by public authorities and housing associations.

BgZCAiQIgAAAVDL

Between one-quarter and one-third of people in the UK are dissatisfied with the amount of space in their homes, and yet many homes can be considered under-occupied when looking at the number of bedrooms compared with the number of occupants.

‘When the bedroom tax was introduced, there was a lot of implication that those living in houses with spare bedrooms were doing so out of selfishness,’ said Mr Morgan. ‘But what this research shows is that in most of the UK, you simply have to under-occupy houses in order to have an acceptable amount of living space.’

CONTROVERSIAL changes to the welfare system are forcing vulnerable people in Bournemouth and Poole to make life-changing decisions, a poverty summit has heard.

Richard Bristow, the manager of Poole Citizens’ Advice Bureau, cited a case where a man with learning disabilities was living on a paste made from flour and water after his benefits were suspended and another where a woman with breast cancer was forced to stop chemotherapy because she was assessed as ineligible for benefits.

Kirkdale residents Theresa McCarten and Susan Dunne told by judge their bedroom tax bills should be reduced

Two social housing tenants in Liverpool have won reprieve from the hated bedroom tax.

Kirkdale residents Theresa McCarten and Susan Dunne were this week told by a judge their bedroom tax bills should be reduced.

Both had their housing benefit payments slashed by 25% in the wake of the Government’s controversial 2012 welfare reforms.

But the women took their cases to court and a judge ordered their bedroom tax bills be cut from around £22 to £11 a week – leaving each of them approximately £40 a month better off.

Ms McCarten told the ECHO: “Bedrooms are being called bedrooms just so the Government can take people’s benefits off them.

“You couldn’t even fit a bed in my spare room but I still had to pay the bedroom tax on it.”

Ms McCarten was first ordered to pay the bedroom tax in March last year.

Benefits assessors ruled her home was a three-bedroom property, although there were only beds in two rooms.

But the first-tier tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber ruled this week: “She has never used the third room as a bedroom as it is too small and has always been used as a computer room.

“The tribunal therefore decided she had two bedrooms.”

BEDROOM TAX CRISIS! UPDATE: East Lancs man threatens to blow up house after eviction threat

UPDATE: East Lancs man threatens to blow up house after eviction threat

siege

A FATHER-of-four threatened to blow up his home after being faced with eviction after a dispute over bedroom tax payments.

Bailiffs arrived at Michael Hilton’s home in Meadoway, Church, at around 9.20am yesterday.

They reported him to police after they heard him say that if they entered the property – his home of 30 years – there would be an ‘explosion’. The police said they believed petrol and gas canisters were in the house.

Mr Hilton, 52, was last night in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of affray following a stand-off lasting around three and a half hours.

Two fire engines were called to the scene, close to St Christopher’s High School, as well as around six police cars, two police vans, a riot van and later, police dog teams.

Mr Hilton barricaded himself in the house and refused to come out.
