Unshackled from Coalition partners, Tories get ready to push radical agendanoam-chomsky-political-quote-how-the-world-worksStreet Democracy writes:

Our Tory ‘iron fists of blue’ have legalised mechanisms of closing avenues of democracy, obliterating the ordinary strength of the people, ripping the pathways of voice and criminalising the echo’s of dissent.
‘Soulless suits of blue’ with deliberate fierce hosting over the years was shocking enough. Now their chains are loose, corporate heads remain hidden, power given by seemingly legitimate ‘rig free’ voting system, the chill is in the air of ice blue and it’s settled nicely.
Devoid of moral fibre we shall experience ferocious economic cuts for the poor, disabled, the welfare state, nhs and all those within the lower end of society, while we watch the embracing and supporting of the oligarchs furthering legalised money trafficking from the wealth of the nation to the concentrated few and their pockets.

The Tories ‘Austerity Package’ just meant financially starve the welfare state, then when it collapses hand it over to the oligarchs. Job well done! By Debbie Simmons-Street Democracy

It is clear democracy, the ‘trickle down’ effect has failed, or it hasn’t started ever where the wealthy didn’t control it. Democracy is still a good idea for us to pursue, we just have a ‘different’ kind of democracy, one where the oligarchs control government and defend their own economic interests.

‘David Cameron will use the Conservative Party’s first majority in the House of Commons for nearly 20 years to “deliver” on a radical agenda to cut welfare, shrink the size of the state and re-define Britain’s relationship with Europe.

Conservative insiders said Mr Cameron would move to the right to consolidate support among his backbench MPs after five years of compromise with the Liberal Democrats.

Among Mr Cameron’s first legislative priorities will be to enshrine an EU referendum into law, bring in the so-called ‘snoopers charter’ to give police greater powers to monitor internet communications and give English MPs a veto over legislation only affecting England. The Tories also intend to publish plans to scrap the Human Rights Act within their first 100 days. All proposals had been previously blocked by the Lib Dems.’

Fracking: what is the British government trying to hide?

Fracking: what is the British government trying to hide?

‘We shouldn’t need a report by Medact to tell us what fracking means for our health. We have a Government led by politicians we elect to represent us in the public interest.
We have Government Departments and regulatory agencies we pay for with our taxes to act in the public interest.
Fracking for shale gas on the scale proposed by the Government would transform our nation. The direct physical impacts alone would be experienced by millions.
We should not embark on this without a strong national consensus based on full, rigorous, and transparent consideration of all the implications, particularly the implications for health.’

Penetrating the Indoctrinated Mind

Penetrating the Indoctrinated Mind

‘If as a child you were taught for years, until you were an adult to believe a certain way about certain things, then later in life your mind becomes a wall and a barrier that cannot receive alternative ideas to what you have thought for years to be true (for most people).
For example suppose that you were taught by your parents, your school teachers and through the “news” media and through movies that God spoke to a man long ago, by the name of Santa Claus and that this Santa Claus said that God told him 700 rules that humans are to live by. What if millions of people all around you believed the same way? How do you overcome this myth, which has been pounded into your mind for thousands of times over the years?
What if you were schooled to believe all your life anything a certain way, such as belief that the Bible is the infallible and inerrant word of God? Others have been taught that their “Holy” books are inspired by God and they have been schooled to believe that their books are true, even though their books differ with yours.’

Assange Reveals UK Spied on Scottish Nationalists During Independence Vote

Assange Reveals UK Spied on Scottish Nationalists During Independence Vote

‘Supporters of Scottish independence are right to think British security services spied on them during last year’s referendum, as Scotland’s sovereignty was equated to a security threat, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said Wednesday.
On September 18 2014, Scotland held a referendum on independence from the United Kingdom. Over 55 percent of the Scottish electorate rejected the motion.
“The attitude of the UK Government is that this is a national security issue, that Scottish independence is, in effect, a threat to the state,” Assange told the Herald Scotland via videolink from the Embassy of Equador in London, where he currently resides.’

Lariam: Hundreds of British soldiers suffering from mental illness after being given anti-malarial drug

Lariam: Hundreds of British soldiers suffering from mental illness after being given anti-malarial drug

‘The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has been accused of knowingly risking the mental health of its own soldiers after new figures showed that nearly 1,000 British servicemen and women have required psychiatric treatment after taking a discredited anti-malarial drug.
Psychosis, suicidal thoughts, depression and hallucinations are among the mental-health problems associated with Lariam, also known as mefloquine.
But the MoD has rejected all appeals to stop giving the drug to troops posted overseas – to the mounting fury of relatives, politicians and retired military figures who fear it could be responsible for an epidemic of psychiatric illness in Britain’s Armed Forces.’

Shopped to social services because I’m not a perfect mum: Shona Sibary on the malicious phone call that could have seen her little girl taken into care

Shopped to social services because I’m not a perfect mum: Shona Sibary on the malicious phone call that could have seen her little girl taken into care

‘Looking back, it’s ironic to think that the phone call came just as I was putting the finishing touches to my five-year-old daughter Dolly’s holiday packing.
We were off to Disneyland Paris for Easter and, as promised, I had washed and ironed her much-adored Frozen dress and was about to place it carefully in the suitcase. At that moment, my mobile rang. ‘Hello, this is a social worker from the MASH team, in Exeter. Is that Shona Sibary?’
MASH, for those of you who, like me, have passed through life blithely unaware of its existence, stands for the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.’
